Crafoord Days 2020 cancelled

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the Crafoord Foundation have decided to cancel the Crafoord Days 2020 on 12–15 May due to the spread of the new coronavirus. All events will be held during the Crafoord Days 2021 instead.

This May the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the Crafoord Foundation would have held the Crafoord Days 2020 to honour the Laureates in astronomy and mathematics, Eugene Parker and Enrico Bombieri.

However, this year’s Crafoord Days will be cancelled due to the spread of the new corona virus. The prizes that would have been presented this year will instead be presented during the Crafoord Days in the spring of 2021. This also applies to the lectures and symposia that would have been held during the Crafoord Days 2020.

This concerns:

13 May: prize lectures at Lund University
14 May: the prize symposium in astronomy that should have been held at Alba Nova, Stockholm University and the prize symposium in mathematics at KTH Campus in Stockholm.
15 May: prize award ceremony in Stockholm.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the Crafoord Foundation is sorry for any inconvenience caused by the cancellation, and welcomes all Laureates, members, guests and visitors to the Crafoord Days 2021.
