The Crafoord Prize in Geosciences 2022
Andrew Knoll has depicted the first three billion years of life on Earth using his studies of microfossils and innovative methods to illuminate their biochemical evolution. In recognition of his work, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences is awarding him the Crafoord Prize in Geosciences for 2022, worth six million Swedish kronor.

Crafoord Days 2022
The Crafoord Days 2022 were celebrated in Lund with three days of Prize lectures, Prize symposia and a Prize ceremony in celebration of the 2020 Crafoord Laureates in Astronomy and Mathematics, Eugene Parker and Enrico Bombieri, the 2021 Crafoord Laureate in Polyarthritis, Daniel L. Kastner, and the 2022 Crafoord Laureate in Geosciences, Andrew Knoll.
